Yeah, there's a lot of shadyness going on in this music thing. The bigest thing I got from that article is that you have to have people around you who know what they are doing and are doing it for and with you. In the word of Dame Dash - You don't want to sign a brick!
Personally, I have to give it up to any artist on a high profile label like the ROC who isn't scared to break the rap "formula" everybody seems to use. At the least, it shows that you don't have to be an underground/conscious rapper to sell records (447,000 copies in the first week). You can be...
The Grey Album
Have y'all heard the Grey Album (Jay-Z rhyming over beats made from the Beatles White Album)? I was wondering what you thought of it? If you haven't heard it yet, here's a site you can download it from.

I'm gonna do some recording using a headphone amp (since I don't have a booth) but my headphones are horrible. Anyone have suggestions for headphones - I was thinking of getting AKG's K 240 studio headphones.

Yeah Manny Fresh has made some hot beats but I won't be impressed until with his production skills until I hear him make something hot in a different style. When it comes to making beats for the Cash Money cats he does his thing I can't see him making beats for anyone else.
I think creative highs and lows are a part of production. Remember what you did to get out of those creative lows and don't take the fact that you're at a creative high for granted.
