i just bought Sennheiser HD25s

they are kinda industry standard and are used by both musicians and cameramen etc.

they are light as fuck
comfortable as fuck
and go loud as fuck

parts are replacable aswell

they may be out of your price range though im not sure.

I've got the Sony mdr-v700's. I use for both dj'ing and monitoring.

They're nice, but they wear my ears out big time once you've been wearing for more than 30mins.

If i had the money i'd keep the sony's for dj'ing and buy some senheisers for producing

Unless your mixing, you don't need none of those.

They might not have it at yours but go to your local Staples. Get the Maxell HS-200's. There worth the $20 you pay for them.

what ever headphone you get make sure they have a closed back or you may have a problem with leakage into your mic.
