    The main thing is there too many effects, both soft and hardware wise at your disposal to emulate any ambience, environment or mic warmth, but it's on you and how you want your setup to be. my 2 cents.

    I hear ya, my 20/20's are great but its sort of hard to mix at a low level in those monitors, they are FLAT response and uncolored so you are not getting all of the frequencies coming thru like if you had monitors that are colored...so thats why I got the m-audio's they are banging lil monitors...

    I mix in headphones (sony mdr 7506's) because of where i live unfortunately , and have been doing it for awhile and yes i know better but my Event 20/20 's do me no just but where I used to live I could turn the volume all the way up .....anyhow my mixes will be better now or at least better...
