Haha At first I was like did someone really make a beat with mary had a little lamb then it changed up and im like ok props to who made this.

man this is hard to vote on there are 5 beats that really standout.. the twinkle,twinkle little star beat is dope but this other beat really got my attention....but i am definitely changing my beats up for next contests we need more hip hop beats in these contests...cause trap beats are way too easy to make and there are too many trap beats on this hip hop site..just my opinion..

I'm listening to the other beats besides mine now, I'm still confident in my submission but there is a TON of talent here and these beats are amazing. Good luck everyone, and I'm def down to collab in the future if anyone is interested.

I agree. I feel like a lot of people don't know how to find a balance between trap and Boom-Bap. I know beatmakers that exclusively make trap and I know some that exclusively make Boom-Bap. It's good to have a niche, it's also good to be versatile and open to different styles and genres

Yes sir, it is good to versatile. But there is a big difference between a beatmaker and a producer.. I'm a producer so I have to be versatile...beatmakers can stick to one genre.

Ty for saying it Deez. I know Trap is whats in and the kids are into it. Maybe im becoming an old head but they all sound the same to me. I feel like its just a fad and true hip hop and boom bap will live forever in some way.

I know the difference, but doesn't the versatility aspect also depend on the artist you work with as well? There are still producers who stick to, or have created their niche with one genre, and that's how they make their bread. While there are also producers who are genre fluid, even though they may have a characteristic sound. My original wasn't necessarily to defend trap lol, I've just observed that when it comes to production/beatmaking many people only think about trap and boom-bap and don't consider every other type of sound/style in between.

And you're right, trap music pays big. I know because most of my clients demands trap beats more than Hip Hop...so I totally agree, but I think on the producers side you get to explore more genres. But like you said basically you go where the money is. Personally speaking I guess I don't like being put in a click bag
