    Hardware vs. Software

I have been software only since like 99-2000 so yea I am not coming back. It took me another 6 years to finally sell my MPC, but using hardware is SO freakin slow I think it would drive me crazy to go back. And I don't know of ANY hardware units that can do what VSL or Native Instruments can do.

    Hardware vs. Software

You can make fantastic top 40 tracks in programs like Reason/FL I think you will still need a keyboard controller or something of that nature so you are still using hardware. It seems like solutions like Maschine where it is a hardware software combo are going to be the future. But no I would...

    Maschine, ok ya

NO! Dont go academic on this one as you are not eligible for upgrades and long term it will actually cost you more!

    Protools/logic/mac

I love Logic, but since Propellerheads Record came out I mix most of my own stuff in that. So I don't fire up Logic all that often these days. If you are a hard core Reason user take a look at Record. Then you wont need to use Rewire or anything, its a fantastic solution.

    Protools/logic/mac

All the DAW's do a great job and are fairly unlimited from a power perspective. Cubase is not used much in recording studios so it won't help you get a job, but I think both Cubase and Nuendo and very cool programs so if you just make music for yourself or send stems to be mixed elsewhere it...

    Protools/logic/mac

For YEARS Pro tools sucked on PC and was just not a viable option. Also PC's sucked in general for audio so most studios went the mac route and never looked back. I have no issues with PC's per se but I would say that macs are still built a bit better for audio/video. Second Pro tools is a more...

MPC 2500 slow os no updates?

guys I totality get the connection to the MPC, it is SO much fun to use. But the writing is on the wall, I think the MPC's grip on hip-hop production is about at its end. Time to move up to Maschine!

Nope I have heard them extensively, and I can name 10 monitors off hand that sound way better. Blue skys are not really known to be all that accurate. I was simply saying they are not even close to the best on the market. Almost all the hardware used to create omni are available in Reason...

    Reason 5

LMAO, umm nope but its all good man. Anyone who wants VST in Reason does not know how to use Reason period. Refills are generally smaller because they use the sytnhs in Reason to recreate the sounds. Instead of samples. List to ALL the Pantheon demos and tell me that's not just as good as...

Whatever man, Omnisphere does rock, but bit word is right up there with Evolve and I actually own all the plugins discussed. At this point you need to get better speakers or quite just trying to win a discussion. There are MANY MANY songs in the top 10 that use Reason refills. Did you listen...

Just like there is allot of below average VST plugins. Point is you can get refills that sound just as good as east west, spectra-sonics. If you are on a mac I love autosampler for doing what you describe.
