    is there a way to filter drums (specifically snares/rimshots) from a sample?

    do as much eqing and flitering as you can. then chop out the drums. which will leave spaces in the sample. fill in the spaces with other parts of the sample or other sounds or whatever. thats usually how i deal with it.

    there are vocal remover programs. they only work in specific situations though. the vocals have to be dead center with all the other instruments panned either left or right. and in most cases songs aren't recorded like that. here's a link to one...
