    mine is my emcee name. which came from a line in a song i wrote called "colossal". ..."poured mercury in the water to poison the offspring" i just liked the way mercury and water sounded together. most people think it came from muddy waters though.

    yeah. you can choose soundwave forms, oscillators and noise factors and frequencies and stuff, but i'm not knowledgable enough about all of that to have an exact idea of the result i would get from what setting. you can just experiment with it and see what you get

    it basically makes drum and percussion sounds. depending on how you tweak the settings, you'll get a different somewhat random drum sound. i think you can choose between a snare, bass kick, or hi-hat. i've only used it once. i didn't really like it.

    so can you sequence in the soft sampler? i mean is the process: 1. record with a wave editor 2. chop and process with a soft sampler 3. multi-track sequence in a whole other program lol. i sound like a damn newbie. aaarrrggghhhh!

    EPS vs MPC 60 and Asr x vs asr 10 question.

    the "fat" sound pretty much comes form the sample rate. most modern sampler sample at 44.1 or 48 khz. but the older samplers can change their sample rate. i think the sp1200 runs around 20 khz or something. the asr 10 and x can change to multiple rates.
