LOUDNESS
I've been experimenting with some things, and I'm wondering... Are there any problems I could run into if I'm mixing things at a much lower volume than normal? I'm working on a beat for the sample flip section, and got the idea to leave the sample at 0, and mix all other sounds around it... -

Well my beats suck!! So I guess u can count me out... Lapdance was a pretty popular song, I always liked it... but maybe it was b/c I was into bmx back then lol I heard that song recently on a movie preview for some disney movie, I think... It was definitely an animated kids movie... Strange... -

I can't believe it either!!! I definitely thought you had this 1... For what its worth, it was still my favorite beat in the competition. Thanks man! "Banger" might be a bit of a stretch tho... lol I really didn't even think I'd make it into the top 5 after hearing some of the other beats...- crog85

This is some great info!!! I understand about the different frequency ranges... I feel like I mix all the sounds together pretty well, but I think my main problem is mixing everything too loud before I start doing any mastering... b/c like I said, everything sounds good playing through the DAW... -

I need help... How do u guys get your beats up to the proper volume level without any distortion or clipping? I've read to start by keeping the levels of your tracks at zero or below, but I run into the problem of not being able to turn some sounds down low enough to mix with other sounds when... -

Hey, here's an idea... You always refer to beats that you've made or are in the process of making when you're doing the reviews. Why not play a beat that you've made or are working on at the end of the show and ask people to post reviews for your beats on the forum?- crog85

I enjoy listening to the show much more... I usually listen on my way home from work, its just not the same playing each beat and reading the review. I do see why u wanted to try it this way, to get more people involved in the forum... but to be honest I didn't really think "we" were supposed to...- crog85
