Ideas on how to get strated building a track other then hip hop
techno = dirty saw lead... usually start of with melody or chord progression then drums with anything else, it just usually starts with a melody or progression. -
how do u name your tracks?
that'd probably work, but it'd look really messy to me. maybe you should organize in folders by each month. -

Is the Korg electribe for hip hop?
yea. you could use a tape recorder and make hip hop on it. FL is also known for it's easy techno capabilities, but it's still awesome for hip hop. i'd say give it a go at a guitar center or something. -
Should you stick to one style of hiphop to improve your sound?
perfection never comes. getting really really good at something does, but that comes over time. sure, isolating yourself to one style may help, but then you'd lose your skills in other areas. i think having breathing room enables more creativity in every style. i dunno. i've been composing... -
FL vs. Reason
the only reason i'd take a hardware synthesizer is for live playing, or for getting a more assimilated commercial sound. other than that, i'm all FL studio. -

learn how to play piano. if you go to the resources section, there's a 9 week series on learning how to play piano. it takes serious practice if you're serious about music making. and listen to a lot of different kinds of music. -

fl 7 problem
when i drag and drop some sounds..only some sounds to a channel on the step sequencer, it plays back really high pitched, but when i click on the actual .wav image in the channel setting, it sounds fine.. what the heck?! ---EDIT---- nevermind, i fixed it. -

yea, i tihnk that was the problem...never happened to me before, though -
weird step sequencer problem
my step sequencer is weird. it won't let me move notes side to side, only up and down. and when i'm using the pencil, i can adjust the length of the note when holding down the mouse button. HELP!
