what do you think of RJD2?????

RJD2 is one of the best producers around at the moment in my opinion. He is one of the best samplers and I wish that I could make drum patterns like him!

    That was dope...

DJ Skully is sick, I heard him on a 1xtra thing a while ago and he was so good. I saw DJ IQ on the decks for Jehst and he was amazing. He is only 16 or 17 and he did this amazing beat juggling thing to the Grindin beat.

    Destroy All Fruity Loops Software....NOW!

I use Fruityloops, I find it really easy to use. If I remember rightly one of the beat this comps was won with a fruityloops beat a while ago.

    Shure SM58

Thanks for the replies. I bought a SM58 the other day and have recorded vocals with it and I am very pleased with the results. Considering that it isn't a condensor mic and that it is fairly cheap I think it's really good.

    Djx Ii

I have it and it really isn't very good. It's cheap and has a few ok sounds but I would say don't buy it.

    What's going on?

Good Idea, at the moment I am just loving making beats and learning new things about music all the time. I'm trying to figure out what equipment I should buy next and have just started working with a couple of mc's. Searching for samples is something that takes up a lot of my time as well and I...

    Shure SM58

Does anyone here use a SM58 to record here? If anyone does or has used one can someone tell me if it is worth buying one to record vocals with? The mics good and bad points? I have heard good things about the mic but would it be better to buy a mic dedicated to recording?

    dopest hip-hop duo... ever?

Taskforce are a duo from the UK. You should be able to get some of their stuff from kazza or something. They are brothers Chester P and Farma G and are amazing rappers. They now have a new member and he is supposed to be incredible.

    Freestyle....

After reading Fades Huh article I have to say that it really does piss me off when a rapper is supposed to be freestyling and you can blatently tell that what they are chattin is pre-written. It seems that people are forgetting what Freestyle is. What does everyone esle think about Freestyling...

    Help with drums!

Good advice everyone. I have been trying to improve my drums and what I find is you just have to spend ages perfecting them. Even if you are using a really simple hat, kick and snare pattern you need to listen hard. Listen to live drums or even better play them yourself to get a feel for it...

how much difference does a good sound card make?

I went from onboard sound to a terratec dmx6fire soundcard and though it isn't a top of the range card, it did make a big difference. It has good recording quality and the inputs on the front module are great, turntable input and a preamp in the card which made it really easy to sample from...

    Eminem ...

Eminem is an amazing rapper. He has made some good songs and brought Hip Hop to a lot of people who knew nothing about it. You can argue weather that is a good or bad thing but if you look past the fact that he is everywhere and played out, you can't say he is not a good rapper. Whats with this...

    Production Roundtable

I like a lot of todays beats, but I hate a lot as well. There is a lot of original and interesting production today, but there is also a lot of boring and repetitive production. There will always be good and bad beats, I think it's just that you need to look a bit harder for the good.
