I think its because he's making all the money and its a jealousy thing. Whenever anyone makes a lil bit of money hate tends to appear. But yeah, the white thing does seem to also be a reason. But, why dont other rappers become better rather than hate? :: cough cough :: Benzino :: cough cough ::

I'm white but don't feel him. I won't say don't like or hate cause I don't know the man, I can't literally not like or hate him.
I don't feel him because of his tone of voice and his lyrics don't mean much to me. Also, I know Dre has produced a lot of his beats and I'm a fan of Dre's productions...but I really don't think Eminem's beats are that tight either.
Also, seeing him 24/7 just makes you tired of him. Anything you see/hear ec 24/7 will get tiredsome.

He's white and his main thing iz producin' contraversy on every possible level, and then actin like hes just joking when he talks to tha press...but its pretty evident that eminem hates alot of people and so forth and he shows that with mjor authority in his songs...Aside from that though, which isnt specifically a pet peave of mine - i have to admitt that em iz a pretty dope lyricist hands down, he just needs to stop talkin about stupid shit, and he might have some real substance in his lyrics for once.

yeah, i have to agree with deuce.. all he does is run his mouth. yes, a lot of cats have just ran their mouth off at him, but look at his targets in the past: cage (a nobody, really), nsync (please...... yeah, eminem is real hard dissing boy bands who wouldnt do anything) brittany spears....
i dont know about cage, but the pop groups were rediculous. is one thing to have an opinion, but to publicly diss them was stupid. what, were they going to make a diss record coming back at him?

i just feel like the man needs to grow up... another thing is that he tells people not to talk about his daughter, but then he talks about her and brings her up constantly, and even put her on a track, which opened it up for people to REALLY clown the kid. from my view it would seem that if i didnt want my kid to be a part of my beefs then i would leave them out of my music.... she will wind up dealing with the things he is doing and saying at some point.

the fact that he wont say "nigga" because its "disrespectful to blacks" but its cool to say "faggot"? what about calling women bitches?

i do not hate him, i just dont feel him. i dont like what he stands for, and i will not support someone who goes against my values. (this is why i rarely listen to any hip hop anymore..... )

he really brings a lot of his troubles on himself.

You cant just hate him cos hes white, There are so many dope MCs these days who are white that it really shouldnt be an issue an issue.
Aesop Rock, El-p, Sage Francis, Slug, Radioinactive, Awol One, Sole, Alias, Buck 65, Mike Ladd and even the fucking Beastie Boys were white......clearly Hiphop doesnt originate from skin cells, it originates in the mind and the mind doesnt recognise skin colour. Im sick of ignorant cunts.

Anyway....I dont have that much time for Eminem. hes got skills but i bet you that he doesnt even know the four elements of hiphop. i especially despise him for making such a wack arse movie which promoted Hiphop in a neglective way.

To be honest, skin colour shouldn't have much to do with it. Like Mr.Messenger said, most white emcees are dope. There are others he missed off his list like Kno, Apathy, Cage, Copywrite, Esoteric, Scorzayzee, Jehst, Taskforce and J-Zone. The list goes on and I think what takes white emcees lyrically to a level dopeness (especially with witty lyrics) is that often they aren't from the sturgle background and they need a different topic to talk on (eg. unlike Talib).

Also, saying that Eminem is stupid for dissing boybands and the poppy mainstream world like it or not...was genius. How many more records did he push due to his tracks like the Real Slim Shady? Personally, I prefer his lyrics from back in the 90's with his lil crazy stories and witty battle style verses such as on 'Don't give a fuck'....but those days are gone and its evident on his last drop that he's looking to a more political and social aspect for his music.

yo messenger... what oes the four elements have to do with it? wether he knows them or not (which he does, you can not live in the battle circuit long without being exposed to b-boys and graf heads..) shouldnt have a bearing on his skills as an mc....

agreed Truth Told......

My comment about not knowing the elements was half sarcastic.

I just feel like Eminem has had such a big opportunity to promote hiphop positivly. He made his movie and it was all focused around battling. I dont think that movie included all the elements. If he really wanted to, he could have put Hiphop in a really good light...but he didnt.

I just have more time for people who represent their culture. eg KRSONE (who Eminem actually happens to list as an influence)

mr. messenger, eminem didn't write the script for 8 mile so don't blame him for it not representing all aspects of hip hop, and 8 mile wasn't supposed to represent every element of hip hop it was representin the story of eminems character. It wasn't about graffiti break dancing or djing i coudn't see any of that playing a big part of that movie anyway. The movie was actually pretty realistic and they nailed the 95 hip hop scene pretty good in my opinion

yeah, i have to agree with split...... it wasnt about the breakers or any of the "elements".... the movie was about a white guy who came up as an mc, and the struggles surrounding his rise. it wasnt about representing a culture.

i began as a breaker and small time writer... so i am all for the elements and would like to see a greater representation of them, but i think people act like that is all there is to it. the elements have their place but musically and artistically, it shouldnt have to revolve around that, as there is a much bigger picture then those four (some will list a few more..) basic elements.....

Yup...just to add to that. 8 Mile was strictly a film about battle rap, it wasn't a hiphop film, adding DJing, breakin' and graff into it would prolly have just complicated things. 8 Mile has actually done some good as well for the underground/battle scene because its exposed it to a wider audience that never even knew it existed. Hell, you see battles on tv now on a much more regular basis...

Also, I'm not sure its fair to say that because Eminem is so successful that he should promote the music and culture ina positive light. Cause other big artists from the past eg. NWA, 2Pac, etc never had the same responsibility. His negative attitude is what makes him who he is...its what accentuates his style. Thats why I'm a big fan of his, because he's a battle emcee that has successfully taken his style accross into a music career and completely blown up. People can like him or not, but he's already cemented himself a place in hiphop history...

Okay first off, Eminem started out as a battle emcee, then became a commerical song writer, hence the reason I love his 1st album compared to his second and third effort... As a rapper Eminem is one of the best hands down... His song writing ablity is uncanny, and I will go as far as to say he writes the best choruses of all time....heres what I dont like about Eminem

Eminem represents of pretty much domanting the market, not because he has skills but because hes white..because hes white he can get airplay on a rock station, and country station, have more access to consumers, and thus easy become king of the hill, this is one reason why black artist sales arent as strong, its cause Eminem constanly is feed to the public eye, and those that are assocated with him, are really the only benefiters of this..(for example 50 cent) Its not that he knows it, its just how its set up...White supremecy is still alive and rampant, for instantce look at Elvis, supposedly the orginator of rock and roll, WRONG...2 black guys did it before him Chuck berry and Lil richie, now who gets all the credit Elvis, whos got the fan clubs, and stuff Elvis...why cause elvis was white......doing black music, he shook his body like a black man, and who are the biggest consumers of records , white people...so when a White artist who pretty much walks, and talks, sings, tattooes himself like a black one comes up..then white people can realte more and hence he is so succesful.......I cant count the number of times I have rock punk friends who swear rap is crap but have a eminem record....so its not in the sense People are hating on eminem really its the system... he gets things easier in the industry cause hes white more acces to movie deals, commericals etc, since the biggest consumers of the product are white... But Thats pretty much how the world is... however no doubt Eminem has got skills and like I said one of the best to have ever done it....but its sad that it still goes to show the Minorties are still the Minorties....
