Yeah i just copped me a mpc 2000xl with 8 outs , max memory, internal zip drive, only 6 months old for..............$850

I used to produce on reason before i got it but i pretty much got the basics of the mpc down.

Anyways i was just curious how many people here @ illmuzik use the mpc as well... if you got any tips or tricks? or just to say what model you got is all good .

do you have any rca in and out you can hook up to your computer and your mpc, and i think you can send the samples as a midi file but not for shure tho, and you can never go wrong with a zip drive

I rock the 2000xl, but with the floppy drive. I got an external SCSI HD/zip/CD-Rom from www.scsiforsamplers.com I transfer files either by saving the CPU files as .wav on either floppy or CD and open em in the MPC.

You got a couple of options aside from sampling each into the MPC: 1) get a zip drive for your CPU and transfer the files that way, or get a CD drive for the MPC and burn the files to disk to open in the MPC.

There is a program I have called MPC Editor where you can load files, edit programs and settings on your CPU and transfer it all to your MPC. You can check it out at www.midicase.com

I have an MPC 4000 Studio A. I love it, it's a one stop shop. Except for mastering, you can do everything in it.
