I use the MPC1000

yup yup, I love that little fucker. Turntables go straight to the 1k, then chopped and dumped into the comp.

The MPC 2000XL is what I roll with as well. It truly is a God-send to rap producers. It's something about bangin' on those pads man, Plus the sequencer is sick!! So easy and intuitive. You won't be disappointed! What I really love about it is that I can transfer the sequences I've done on my ASR-10 onto the MPC and really tighten junk up! It is the brain in my set-up. I don't do any sequencing on the ASR. It just houses my sounds and banks. Once you really sit-down with the MPC and get in and see what it can do?!! You can really freak it and come up with some sick junk!

Happy bangin' homie!!

Yeah man whats the best way to transfer files from your computer to the mpc?

cuz i got shit loads of drums and samples i have collected on the pc.

Well, if you've got Windows XP on your PC, the MPC will not read any CD or disk formatted in XP. Windows 98 or 2000 works just fine. So I do all my stuff on the Mac using Toast Titanium. So to all you heads who use a Mac & MPC, I found a very handy and useful software called MpcProgramMaker http://homepage.mac.com/seishu/ssworks/MpcPgmMaker.html

With this, you can drag and drop your WAVs or SNDs on the drum pads in the software and save it and it will save all your drums sounds and Program info. Burn it to CD and load it in the MPC!! I dig it!. It costs $20.00 after your demo time is up. It was $20.00 well spent for me.

Really? How so? I've been having mad issues trying to get the MPC to read a XP formatted joint. I have found several others facing this issue as well. Is there a work around that you have found or does it just work for you?
Very curious.
