it's all the typical mastering processing in a single plugin.
Eq, comp, harmonics saturation, stereo, transient shaper...
Now that music is made in the box and at home by musicians, software developers have tried to make these processing intuitive with a single knob for each and a name that is not technical.

On your screenshot, Air is probably a kind of high end freq processing like shelf EQ and harmonic distortion. Push and volume have to be a LA-2A type compressor...

But it really is a trial and error thing. And you want it on your master bus obviously.

i think air may be some type of mastering reverb

It might be. But I'd be surprise as reverb is not what I'd call "typical" mastering processing. Lemme check the user manual.
Reverb can be used on the master chain, but it is used much more subtly. And as long as you filter the low end a little it can be a nice touch, maybe its already got a high pass on it, but yeah reading the manual is the first thing Id have done if I was Arvin

at home mastering is like home dentistry imho.
why? I mean there's a really stupid opinion that I have: If I can't hear the difference of non-mastered and mastered music at home, other people shouldn't either? so what'd be the point? people are too dumb to recognize compressed from non-compressed anyways.

Look when he's playin around with the knobs on the right.
I'ma be honest, I don't hear Any difference on my earplugs. I don't think there'd be any difference in a car or speaker either, so why would it make a difference for any non-professional listener? u know? I sound stupid but I'm right :D

at home mastering is like brushing your teeth imo.
It doesn't cost much and if done well it spares you the dentistry...

Hahaha I'm joking, but seriously paying for professional mastering is not an option for me.
Imagine I pay to master a beat for the warzone final and I get kicked out at round 1.
There are plenty situations where a little polishing can help improve stuff.
I've spent years wondering how professionals get their sound. But since I use Ozone, I'm definitely getting much closer than I ever have.

But I get what you're saying, if you're going for commercial ends then a pro master is a must.
Mastering in a non-treated room on cheap speakers can cause damage to a piece of music. Do more bad than good. That's true.

If you cant hear the difference in your home setup then you definitely should not be mastering at home. Mastering is SOOO much more then compression. In fact Jack white is famous for not using any compression in the mastering stage. I dont think people can point it out and tell the different but they certainly can FEEL when something is not up to scratch. If it is your music shouldn't you care the most about it? Should you not do everything humanly possible to make it the best it can be? Mastering is a HUGE part of that.

Heck I would be willing to post both versions of the next Drunk Pedestrians album that is not out yet. My mix and then the mastered version (I had a great guy in Nashville master it) and let you decided. I promise you it makes a huge difference.
