They didnt do anything besides timestretch and add a snare. I give em props for diggin for it but half the tracks on the cd i couldve done.

helix - yea defo agree with you that the more i dig samples the more i seem to lose respect for producers of certain tracks, some tracks that you think are great, some you don't even realised were sampled and then you hear the original and can make a copy of the beat in about 10 mins !

Glad your feelin wut im talkin about. If you ever listen to Guns & Roses (Jay-Z ft. Lenny Kravitz, Produced by Heavy D) and then listen to Arco Arena by Cake, Heavy D didnt even add a kit. All he did was loop one part 4 times, then looped a different part 4 times, then looped...etc.

That is really worth checkin out, cuz it shows how hot of a beat you can make and still be lazy. I dont respect anybody who does that.

mannnnn, jesus walk!!!!!!, that shit it the fuckin same!!!!!! I coulda make it!!!! and I did a 2 track that I think are hot and i was kind of like: man these are hot but their sampled... man now I WILL NEVER FILL ASHAME OF SAMPLING!!!. I was like: man that pum pum pum is so fuckin orginal but now I see he just took the thing and ad a drum and some synth. But hey, you can say whatever you want about kanye west, but THIS GUY IS A FUCKING GENIUS, cuz what he's doing, it's pure art: the art of sampling. Man bersek, that thread really changed my life (putted to the extreme), now I will not be ashame when I sample something, cuz Kanye West is recognise as one of the best!

i hate to say this but this has really kinda disspointed me !!!

It shows how un orignal some samplers are. Some people just loop shit.

I thought the chourd progression on jesus walks was soo orginal but hearing the sample i see he basically followed the song and added his own thing.

The black alum dec 4th was even worse. Jeese he just looped the damn thing voice and all!!!! But i cant deny the shit is hot.

Im kinda glad sampling is not my thing though.

yea jesus walks made me laugh ! he's done basically nothing except add a beat !
and yea class i listened to what more can i say i wasn't even sure that woz sampled the first time i heard it, but its pretty simple to make from that instrumental, but still you can't deny its a good track just goes to show its not how you do it or whatyou do its how it sounds at thend of it !
