Recommendation on DJ Controllers for a Beginner

I think Traktor can seem complicated if you get into the loops and clips and all that. But you can easily just simplify the layout and use it just to spin. I started that way and then started getting into effects a bit. I haven't messed with clips much because I don't need them.

I would say go with Mixxx since it's free and then if you really want to continue and upgrade, then go with Traktor.

@Koey Don't forget you also have to know how to move the knobs while jumping around and doing fist pumps! And wear shades.

Like Fade said, Mixxx is a good starting point. Plus they've got demos of the programs. Not sure how it is with Serato, but Traktor only allows 30 mins per session before it closes on you.

what exactly is traktor and why its so advanced??
