Yea the sound and everything works fine. I just can't get the mpk and reason to midi clock sync. Had any luck with that Arkitekt?

Oh, I thought you meant your computer just doesn't recognize the MPK plugged in via USB at all. But yea, I have like no knowledge about how to do that in Reason with the MPK, shit, I dont know what midi clock syncing is lol. Sorry bout that bro.

First: Be sure that you use the latest codecs and remote maps for mpk. You will find them downloadable from the akai professional website (.com! the german site has old versions...). Install them as descibed and remove older versions of the files (to be save)

Lattest firmware of the MPK is also required, certainly, 1.03 I believe, but that was already installed when my mpk arrived.

Then set reason to recieve incomming midi clock signals from the usb input port of the mpk (under options/advanced midi controls). Then set Reason to be synced as slave

The akai must be set to internal midi clock. And the play/stop etc buttons
must be assigned to send Midi/MMC data! Not midi alone!

okay, i figured it. so its not as great as you think it'd be. what it does is it solely uses the clock off the keyboard, meaning that it odesn't use reasons at all. it will read 0.00 bpm in reason. so basically i'm sure you had all the settings setup right, mine worked straight default. but you gotta use the transport keys on the keyboard only. you can't use your computer keyboard spacebar to play/stop or even click on the transport at all in reason or that error message iwll pop up asking you to switch back over to reasons clock.let me know what happens.

oh and look at the above post, and make sure you got those settings right. i'm sure yo've already done all that shit, cause thats straight off akais website telling you how to sync up your keyboard to reason!

What forum did you get that from? Im interested to read up on that and see what other people posted as replies to that problem. Also I have all that set up like like the post suggest but I still get the error message in reaon when I hit the Rewind or fast foward buttons on the mpk 49.

Thanks I feel like im getting closer

Hmmm

Everybody thanks for all the insight on this little prob we have with Reason and the MPK 49. I've been back and fourth with Line 6 who owns Propellerhead Reason and Akai Pro Tech Support. Seems that when you midi sync reason and the mpk 49 with Reaon as slave and hit any transport keys reason thinks its you mouse actually hitting the transport. Its a knows issue by Line 6 and Akai and thier is no fix for it now. One work around the suggested is to Sync it only to use Tap tempo and the note repeat and un sync it when you dont need those funtions. Or Slave the mpk 49 to reason but tap tempo and not repeat will be disabled. If I come across anything in the mean time ill let you all know. Peace

I got the 4.01 Update. I rewired reason and Ableton and Pro Tool 7.4.2 LE and it worked fine. I just created a Midi Instrument Track and assigned it to Reason. I've pretty much gave up on the Midi clock Sync function with Reason 4 for now. Everything else works fine so Im good. I just find the tempo and set it up manually between Reason end The MPKs settings. Peace
