Yo that joint was crazy, in the studio it looked like he was running audio out from the MPC to the ASR-10 and filtering the beat with the ASR, I recognized the beat from some Queensbridge shyt, but that lil studio clip was wild, I was just wondering who else peeped it, I'm telling ya'll Ensoniq had some good shyt, I'd damn near kill for the ASR X pro

No doubt the asr was ahead of its time.. It can be used as an external fx processor.. I'm not sure about filtering external sources though.

I think it was the diary, that's the part I'm talking about I didn't see the whole game, he was working with Bumpy Johnson, could you say run 2 outputs from the mpc, to the audio in on the asr-10 and filter your sounds with the asr-10, he definitely had both machines hooked up from what I saw, I know about midi, but it was something else that he was doing

Yo x they got an older version that has the keyboard... but they dont make it no more... but should be easy to find... the keyboard version has no "stock" sounds in it, but you can find disks relatively easy....... the first keyboard samplers ensoniq put out was the eps then the eps 16+, then the one you seen, then the newer version is that box one with no keyboard, thats the only one you can get new ... pretty dope though, my boy has it...... so if you see a eps 16+ its basically the same as the asr keyboard model

The triton is a ball of clay, you make it sound the way you want it to. So having it wont make you sound like everybody esle.

he was straight up fucking with both them shits at the same time, like he would press a couple of buttons on the MPC and the loop would get shorter, and messing with the asr buttons around where the edit functions for like filters and wavesamples are! it was like he was cutting frequencies out with the ASR-10, and shortening the loop with the MP, although I'm not exactly sure what the hell he was doing, it was like a 3-4 minute segment of that, while Bumpy Johnson was listening and writing!

Oh shit!!! I was watchin DFX lookin on tv guide for Kanye. And Method Man is doin "M-E-T-H-O-D MAN" This is crazy!!! Too bad i aint tapin this. THis is crazy.

The ASR-X is the sampler( very similar to an MPC), while the ASR-10 is the sampling keyboard. My boy has a ASR-10 that he got off of E-Bay for like 150 bucks. Its great cause he'll use it as a midi controller for Reason or other soft synths, then record the computers audio outputs out to the ASR's sampler and filter the samples untill it sounds right. Then he'll control the ASR with a MPC 60 and do live sample breakdowns back into the computer. Its alot of extra work but his sounds from Reason end up sounding like some cutty sample pulled off of wax. Its wild!

ASR-10 for $150 no way man, I paid 430 for my EPS 16+ at a pawn shop back in September!
