i personally didn't find it hard making club beats but it did take some more thinking out for me - i guess just because im not use to making those type of tracks. - While I was doing some for my cd, those were the ones that i put the most work into, yet their the simplest. But other beats like on some reallness/emotional ish I can do those all day.

.......and everybody's definition of "club" beat aint the same. Down here when I think of club, Im thinking some dirty south crunk type ish. Not some pop shit.

One of my favorites to do...

I love to do a club banger. All it takes is enery in a sense of dance. Get them kicks rolling and bring in the clap with the hi-hats with your own style and add on as your go until that shit is just knocking. Check out how simple Scott Storch made 50's " Just a Little Bit" already a classic. That is a club banger that will have the clubs and radio buzzing.

Yes I agree. A hand clap in a track gives the party vibe, cuz thats usually where we're at when we hear claps. Concerts, parties(maybe not at todays parlays, but when my parents would get down to that parliment funkadelic shit, you can best believe that niggaz was clapin and snappin, "we want the funk"). Thats another thing, snaps, it worked well for Andre 3000's Hey Ya.

I also don't find it hard to make a club joint. Basically it's been said earlier in this thread. 99% of club jams and hit songs in general are very repetitive with a catchy hook. "Family Affair" - Mary J. Blige (Produced by Dr. Dre) is a good example. The beat is the same 8 bars through the whole damned song. Catchy as hell though and I did like it when it first came out. But that beat is one of Dr. Dre's simplest beats he has ever put out there. Face it, how many times have you caught yourself humming or singing a song you really don't like at all but it's so damned catchy you can't get that crap out of your head? It happens to all of us. Even the hardest of us. Just think of something you would find catchy and get yo ass in da lab and practice. In about a month or two of practicing making catchy shit, it will become part of your arsenal and with time, you will be able to make a club jam that bangs with no problem. Love, Peace and Hairgrease!

PS - Try this at work: Whistle or hum a song like "Jingle Bells" or "Row Your Boat" around your co-workers nonchalantly. Pretty soon almost everybody will be whistling, humming or even singing the one you were. Believe it works. I had my whole office singing jingle bells in July. Funniest shit I have ever pulled off on so many people. LMAO!

I'm tempted to try....but the thing about Club beats....they just come and go. I mean a new one can easily replace an old one...they all sound similar to me. But it's the other classic beats that will bang forever.
