I don't think 9th got a break with his destinys child beats i know he didn't he has been o nthe jay-z album and before that he had the little brother album, and hes done a lot of work with the justus league ! Im not trying to make an argument but in your previous post you did kinda contradict yourself ! People sampling doesnt make it any easier for non samplers to break through people will always sign whats hot you think an A&R man is gonna worry that this kid looped a record and can't play three blind mice on the keyboard if he knows he can put usher on it and sell 10 million records or woteva ! Theres a million ways to sample something you can flip a sample anyway you want there are no limits to it and looks how many records there are too sample from ! and im just using primo as an example, the stuff he does with records is amazing and theres people that just diss sampling outright !
Thing is at the end of the day its personaly preference this whole sampling vs synth stuff, tbh i have no problem with either i just happen to prefer sampling wot i do have a problem with is people who talk down on sampling ! I like synth beats if they are good, like lets take classic for example the guy can actually play the keys and it shows on the other hand there are producers out there who can play like three notes make tracks and then talk down on sampling saying its easy, well its fuckin easy to play three notes too but woteva !
Saying sampling is easy is far from the truth, i could give you saome hip hop tracks and the original samples and you still couldnt flip it the same way so.. !

thats kewl then but if you sample i don't see why you don't show some more respect for sampling as a whole, i know the more i sample the more i listen to other people who sample the more i respect what some people do with it ! itsl ike graffiti in a way you can take it at face value and say oh its just a mess on walls and shit or you can study it and shit its an artform, the same with turntablism etc i guess its subjective in the eye of the beholder as to whether its theft or art !

I made a choice I was samplin and then I heard a beat that this cat made that he didn't sample on it was bangin, dude got me on keys....I ran thru NY figued out what music was all about, and decided I can make a lot more $$$ playin keys....I always heard cats I bumped into say..."yeah and he knows how to play keys", I never heard "yeah and he knows how to sample" I make commercial hardcore pop gospel records key word being commercial.....I wanna get paid...I keep samplin in my back pocket for a rainey day when I can't catch it on tha keys or if I go into a studio I'll be like yeah let me help u with that (samplin keys engineering) no disrespect but samplin to me is to easy for what I ultimately want to do....I don't want to recreate tha game juss play in it with what I can contribute...

9th has some incredible stuff and some boring stuff too, he needs to improve some of his drums and i think he has if u compare the listening with murs 3:16 u can hear the progression.

i gotta admit i aint listened to the stuff on here for a while but last time i did no one was fucking with 9ths beats.

respect to him, i agree looping may not be the favoured approach but if it sounds good, and u can express what u wanna express with it then why change just cos other producers dont like it?
