For the record; the definition of the "american" dream goes for most western countries, it implies that it takes effort to get somewhere but its possible.

Its one of those events alike building 7, imo silverstein was ready for a nice new set of towers and these private equities firms with all their ties in global politics and economy helped him do that. I see it from the perspective of who benefits in this. I have the same idea about wwII, its an insane event unlike wars after it but you dont hear anything about that history in regards to the profits made in the military industry.
Actualy, the wwII opened up a lot of financialy interesting oppertunities.

Of course.... WWII was the only way we were getting "out" of the Great Depression, all of those alphabet soup programs that FDR shoved down the citizens' throats did nothing for the economy, overall. Best thing to do is....jump into WWII...only way to fuel the economy. And since we can't just declare war for shits and giggles, because the people won't go for it.....Let's get attacked and then get the people behind us. We knew Pearl Harbor was coming.....but the only way we could get involved in the war, was to let it happen......If Pearl Harbor doesn't happen, the Depression continues... If people get desperate enough, they will go against the government...... It's almost plain logic.... Get the people almost to that breaking point....then get them out and make them forget how fucked the country is and let's go and die for it.....
