I'm thinking of picking up a set of these soon. Anyone have them already? Any Pros or Cons that I should consider?

I've heard nothing but good things about them so far. The freq response/price are awesome! Overpowered so to speak...have more watts than most in their class and check out the settings on the back of each monitor...pretty dope imo.

let me know what you gearheads think.

I haven't had those particular monitors but I have been thru two pair of Behringers. They do sound pretty good. They don't hype your sound much so they're good for judging how your mix actually sound with fair bottom end. After going through two pair I decided to upgrade and went with some KRK Rokit 8's, other than my initial Alesis Monitor Ones these 8's are fairing better. Tweets kept going out in the Behringers....they're pretty easy to replace but I didn't want to keep having to! These Rokit's are so durable that I've actually done house parties with them and a Peavy 18 for the sub. Those actually look very similar to the KRK's....I wonder why?

M-Audio Bx-5's and Samson Resolv's
*Oh I have a 10yr old set of polk audio's hooked up now.
But tell me why you wouldnt get the Behringers, other than a possible tweeter problem (that Im researching now...).

I'd try those new Behringers! They've upgraded the design and material. Silk tweets and kevlar woofers just like the KRK'S. I'd go with 8 inch woofers if they have them though. Better low end unless you already have a sub and don't really need that much bottom in your monitors.

yeah Im leaning very strongly towards the behringers, (Im just curious why dp doesnt care for them)...and yeah I have a powered sub hooked up so bass wont be an issue.

Those must be modern day clone of Auratone 5C Sound Cube

I'm getting an authentic pair for my birthday next month....lol

yeah tbh, it doesnt matter if you go with og's or the avatone, most people these days go the avatone because theyre new and cheaper. In shootdown's most people owning a c5 didnt hear much of a difference. The C5 looks nicer on an oldskool desk though lol

and congrats :)

HAHA What kind of music do you listen to? Frequency Range 90Hz-17kHz That is a joke!

Yea the Avatones are nice, the best monitors I have ever heard are Focal. But they may be out of your budget. But holy cow, they blew my mind!

Anyone with these monitors in their "home studio" better be living in a mansion, have a soundroom built acoustically correct, a minimum of 2 servants, 1 cook and a toilet that washes their arse everytime they take a poop! MINIMUM!

I listened to the Behringers and they sound great for the price...and the freq. range is more suitable for Hip Hop. =)

Word.... my Auratones will be in addition to what I already have. They'll be for making sure my mix it tight on the mono side, end stage type shit. They're definitely not for banging out beats on. For one..they wouldn't handle that! They'll be good for low level monitoring though....plus there nostalgic...lmao, Q loves 'em. (Quincy Jones that is)

Lol, the jokes on you bro!

People use this for referencing their mixes (auratones are the originators, avatones are the new ones from a different brand). Its that range that corresponds to domestic audio you'll find in any household, so instead of driving around in your car checking how the sound is you can stay in your sweetspot and check your mix so see what sticks out or sticks behind.

Another appliance is for checking your mix in mono on these, they reveal a lot this way, just another aid to help your mix quickly. Thats why you sometimes see only 1 auratone on those classic ssl 4k desks :) among the farfields and ns10's.

And 'bout judging the quality of these speakers, they are far more straight-forward in their limited range opposed to any model Truth since they cant hype the sound at all. This implies that when your mix sounds good on these you wont be doubting your mix on your mains either.
Like said, some people use a boombox, their car stereo and what not reference option but it wont opt you to monitor mixes in mono which is really useful.

@dp; i heard those focals solo 6 next to k&h o300s, they sound very nice bottom/top but little exaggeration in low mid. They are favored next to a lot of other mastering grade mains but to me thats a little to much extra for the money. Focal subs on the other hand :) nice!
