Yes, only because there was clear cheating. Cheating has happened many many times. One just happened a few weeks ago. It's crazy what people will do to win.

Yeah there was one beat who was very nicely made, but the mix was off. That's to bad when folks don't take the time to do it right, or maybe like was the case for me for a long time, just didn't have the right equipment. And if you don't have your tracks mastered properly on top of that, or know how to do it yourself(which is a whole other topic), then you better mix that shit right or it just won't sound optimal on all types of speakers/headphones. Think you already know this, and was just pulling my leg. But I'm high af right now, and now you ignited my brain
So just to wrap it up, sure everyone can mix. Just the same as everyone can make beats or whatever you want to throw in there. Only difference is the quality, but that's up to every individual to decide. You know, what they want to achieve and how far they want this hobby of theirs to take them I'm not being judgemental. Just trying to put some light on the subject, because maybe someone need to hear it. That's how you learn stuff.
And that's what i think makes this site so unique. Everyone is not just competing to be the top dog, like I've seen so many other similar places like this. Especially those Facebook groups which to me is garbage compared. People actually take time out of their schedule to help each other/give feedback, not to mention all the inspiration you get from these competitions, both to improve but also to bring new elements into your creations.
And that's all i have to say about that.....

People dont understand that the world of mixing is a world of opinions. Nobody is strictly right, they have their opinion, workflow and techniques and some people like it, others dont and disagree and do things completely differently. Music is an art, it is open to interpretation. Thats what makes it so special. I have been rpoducing for over 20 years, and mixing for around 10 of those, and its only since my heart attack that things have really all started coming together. That said, Im often completely fucking up a mix. So many beats I could have used for this battle but just hated the mix and didnt have time to fix them.

And just to let you guys know, I don't show the votes anymore. I used to but that actually caused trouble in many battles and I don't have time for drama.

For example, one guy would say "how come I lost by only 1 vote? who voted? I want to see the names" --- this actually happened.

Another example was one guy was up by votes then I found out he was cheating, so I removed the cheating votes. Then the guy actually has the nerve to contact me and ask why his vote numbers are down! LOL.

Everyone is cool on here and trust me with the vote totals, so I'd rather leave it as is. The fun part for me is being the only one that knows who's leading!

God I remember the old days before anonymity. Every battle was a fucking drama because somebody got really butthurt. Its sad really, understandable, but sad.
