Back In My Day

I remember when hip hop was hip hop, those were the days. Putting a neckbone out of joint to some MOP or Onyx, spraining an ankle or wrist trying the new breakdance move, hopefully not your neck. I remember when kids would risk life and limb to graffiti bomb a train. Times have certainly changed. Everybody got soft. Men became women and women became men.

Men @2GooD Productions are still men, women are still women, biggest issue I have as I ignore the confusion about gender shit is men who are still Neanderthal in their views on women e.g. MRA, MGTOW types.

If anything I hate how children are being confused re: gender, etc. and I recall growing up feeling and thinking every boy liked girls and vice versa, no in between with the boys liking boys, girls liking girls shit. Like, I knew in college I liked and was aroused by the sight of young men but thing was, I wasn't asked out by anyone e.g. I felt invisible. High school was the same experience. I'll say to the fellas on the ILL, if you never been/felt constrained re: the opposite sex, that's what girls/women experience and gender and race play a huge role.

let an old man rant, Im from an age where men were men and women stayed in the kitchen.
We let them out and it all went wrong from there. Follow the sciences.
So if the women leave the kitchen the men are not a men anymore... How does that work in the bedroom? Nevermind...

Oh man, dont let me get started on that. Adults are fair game, they SHOULD be able to think for themselves. But going for kids whose minds havent fully formed is absolutely disgusting. The way they go for the kids to push their agendas into the next generation is very scary and that is what has really gotten us here now. Im, obviously I hope, joking about the stay in the kitchen part. I would also say to you that you get narcissistic psychopathic women too. Stop playing the victim, as long as you see yourself as a victim it will hold you back from success. Most of us are victims of something or another, we need to take the hits and grow from them, take them as lessons learned. We need to take responsibility for our own lives and loved ones, nobody else will.
I dont want to make my rant too damned serious though, trying to have a bit of fun with the old git role, its my birthday tomorrow, my zimmer arrives next week.

Yassss @Dj Iceman women in their 30s and 40s are Grandmas, when I was a teen I thought the age to be a Grand-anything was at least 50s and up, I grew up in a home full of strong Black women who raised me to be a woman w/strong values and principles and I got doses of that "Big Mama" wisdom on the daily.

Re: the music was just as ignorant then as is now, difference was only the academics, journalists, etc. had time on their hands to speak of and dissect the then popular view "rap glorifies (insert antisocial behavior of one's choice)..." and detractors (C. Delores Tucker, Calvin Butts, etc.) got crucified for it.

We would go out and play all day, go on little adventures, fall out of trees, stealing apples from peoples trees in their back gardens.
Go on walks up the railway lines and see where it would take us. Falling in rivers when trying to jump across, climb across, or when the rope snaps on the rope swing. We used to go on inflated innertubes up the river and let the current take us, then have to spend ages walking back. On these little adventures we would meet other kids, and usually, instead of fighting, we would play some football and become friends or never even see each other again. If it did end up as a fight, it would be a fist fight, people would be bruised, and egos hurt, but they would be going home.
I used to love a good dirt fight, throwing chunks of dirt at each other like trench warfare when they dug a load of trenches around the bottom of my flats. Nearly cost a friend an eye though, the dirt always had stones in it. Was fun though, until somebody inevitably got hurt and went running home to stop the bleeding.

If we wanted to call the parents, we needed to find a pay phone.

Packing dirt together and throwing it at cars was fun..... until one of those grenades had a rock in it.

The days just seemed to go on forever, even in my teens. Not a care in the world. We did stupid things but nobody got seriously hurt.

I did all that, and Ive never broken a bone. If the neighbours kids got chickenpox or measles or any of the other diseases we were sent to go and get sick and get the illness out the way as kids to avoid complications as adults.

BACK IN MY DAY......

People were allowed to smoke EVERYWHERE. Even grocery stores!

Parents would send their kids to the store to buy cigarettes and beer. No ID required!

Everything was closed on Sunday. It was also church day.

There was no 24/7 news. We got the news from the newspaper and the 6 o'clock news.

Rap music was FUN.

The Sears catalog was a good replacement for a porn magazine.

If you had a bully, you didn't report them to anyone. You ordered a set of weights and protein powder from the back of a magazine, waited 6-8 weeks for delivery, then workout like a MF, downed those shakes, then go back to school and kick the bully's ass.

Some @Fade bullies need to be reported though as nowadays kids/teens end up suicidal, etc. and not gonna share my experiences re: bullying but my shit was mild to where I ain't have time to be distraught nor contemplate suicide or any other cide as in a Black household that shit didn't fly.

Can you stop being so serious for 5 minutes? LOL c'mon we're having a fun thread. Or at least trying to.

Bullies need to be dealt with the old fashioned way.
