I cant really relate to your situation as hiphop in the NL was pretty much non existent for the masses except for BFBS radio @ the forces, one national station( 1nce a week )and the arrival of Dre and Ed Lover when we got MTV over in Europe in the late 80ties. The first things I picked up was the Three feet n rising tape ( with the proof of purchases on the back). First things I heard and appealed was artifacts, but wasn't able to buy it anywhere. First addiction was Digable planets. Though later than I started listening hiphop, it had impressed me big time, n they still do.

I started listening to hip-hop when it first started. I have a 45 with the first cat rapping on wax that I ever heard...(King Tim III on FATBACK). That was before hip-hop was ever described as a culture and even before break dancing or grafitti ever became popular.

iiaght!! I now get an idea of the Most Influencial years of Hip Hop!!!!

It seems that the Most Influencial times during which the most people became fans is ironic!........ 1987-1989 & 1997-1999!! That's a 10 gap but, a well spaced one....!

THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION!

1 Luv!
