Simple melodies In The Piano Roll.

I do make SIMPLE melodies on the piano roll using my mouse... Of course, using a midi controller is better, but not necessary at all. It's a question of placement, time, and velocity... and a good ear!

    Mixing Mystery?!

.... ok, wow! But I did answer your question, partially, right. And I did say that I was knit picking. By that, I meant to say that I knew that you probably didn't mix the midi files (it was just a vocab error that I corrected)

    Mixing Mystery?!

ok... I know it's knit picking, but you cant mix midi files. Midi files = info (like pitch, lenght of the note, etc...) Midi files is not sound... so it CAN'T be mixed. I'm guessing you where mixing directly in the program that hosts the plugins you are using, so what is that host? FL...

    compression masters outthere?

Well, that's true if you use it to decrease the dynamics, but it can be used as a shape modeler... like to give bump to the drums, or to have a certain effect on an instrument. It can be used as a tool, like the flanger, or the chorus...

    compression masters outthere?

mmmmh... well, I get your point, and, of course, compression IS a destrucive process (as EQ is), but you do need it at some point. Specially in hiphop.
