    I sample from Spotify all the time. WAYYYY better than sampling off vinyl. I have sold all my records and am looking to sell my last deck. Sample everything as long as it sounds good!

    No Maschine is not standalone. But I would venture to say that is both more powerful that either an mp or mv and better sounding assuming you have good ad/da converters in your computer. Btw think beat thang will ever take off?

    well a sampler gives out whatever you put in. And both the MPC5k and Roland MV are DIGITAL samplers. So they literally should all sound pretty darn similar. Get the one that has the best workflow for your needs, but saying Mashine sounds digital is simply not a good way to compare those three...
