    I always layer about 3-4 kicks. It makes your kicks sound way more full. I agree with fade completly. If youve got a pillow stuffed kick you probly wanna layer it with a puchy kick then mix it down and then layer it with a bassy kick annd apply a final mix

    piano roll i use for everything drum and soundfont wise. careful what snare you use for the roll though. that is if your going from pitched up snares down to your normal one cause some can sound weird when you do that.

    Agree. Try making your own sound with the same synth by adding crazy ass effects to it. the other day i added an auto filter to a moog synth along w/ a phaser and flanger and it was one of the coolest sounds ive ever heard, and nobodys using it.

    SF2 midi has the soundfont patch. I believe they call it crunk string but all it is is a wide saw wave synth

    i usually make like 5 beats at a time now. Ill start on one and work for about 25-30 min and then start a new one. Work on that for a bit and then start another new one or go back to the previous beat. This keeps things fresh for me. But usually i'd say i can make 5 beats in about 7-8 hours...
