But you are talking about hardware here. Should you get an discounted price on a new MPC because you had an old one?
NI has great upgrading pricing on all their software. But hardware upgrade pricing makes no sense to me.
I currently don't have any Maschine's as I got rid of my MKI a while back and was waiting to buy MKIII when it came out. Now that Reason has VST support and Maschine has such a great workflow I am pretty happy these days.
I have used both extensively. Reaper is fantastic if you are willing to spend the time to customize it to your liking. Studio one just works right out the box. Of course it is more expensive.
But you dont need that? The midi goes over the USB in your keyboard and the audio comes/goes from your audio interface.
So keyboard USB to computer
Audio interface USB to computer
And thats it.
I prefer focusrite and you will spend at least $200. Your latenecy should be under 10ms and you should be able to play anything you want live. ASIO4all is just not the best solution. You want something with real Asio drivers.
I had been writing for Ghettoblaster magazine a while and their original cover story fell through. They asked if I had enough material to make the article longer (I could have doubled it actually I have an hour and a half recording of the interview) Also I only interview artists that I am very...
It should be in every major bookstore by now. It is also my first over story. I also do a story on Damu the Fudgemonk in this one. P.O.S. was a great sport I even asked him about hot sauce. Check it out!
In case everyone missed it. Holy crap that is amazing. I LOVE Reason but was starting to move away from it because of the orchestral stuff I had been working on. Now I am good to go! Awesome!
It DOES use drives and specifically ASIO drivers. Sounds like your latency is set too low. Try turning up the latency in the focusrite control panel.
PS I sold and supported these for years and own one myself.
