    Hey formant you are an engineer fa sho.....also you are correct about the processing.....if you are not using a sound card that has a kernel independent of wdm....then you get major loss on what you could get as far as maximum sound retention, and also you lose out on all of the sub level...

    you can probably get some results from trial and error...but if you have any parts of the vocals that clipped just like any other signal you are going to have a hard time trying to restore the level to a normalized value....so if you have really off the meter peaks you gotta do some magic like...

    Hey don't you have to have the audio interface??? I know a studio that refuses to use protools and they use nuendo and they have this nice interface that feeds from the pc to the 48 track mixing board...this is a top studio too, let me know because I was wondering about nuendo too...

    I have owned the RS7000, there is a lot you can do with it.....but possibly the 909 has more hip hop ready sounds in it....plus you can load your own.....it has the large display and appears to be easier to work with....I got my hands on a demo 909 and I was impressed...
