    Beat This! - May 6-7, 2020

I take it ! This fucking alphabet is probably gonna rank my beat right before last once again, so I might as well grab whatever I can.

Paying for chord progression samples, loops, and MIDI?

I bought some Superior Drummer midi packs for some realistic drums... saved me a lot of editing time... nothing hip-hop related however. Chord progressions, never. I know enough theory for what I need, or I eventually learn some on my way. Even if music theory was completely uncharted territory...

    Beat This! - May 6-7, 2020

If there's a few, then it cannot be "easily" won... right ?

I eard an obvious winner in there... but if you'd rather vote for mine, I'm fine with it.

Which VST plugin for hiphop bass you use?

I use UJAM's... mostly the Royal. I get a decent sound without moving a single knob. But my basses ain't great I think. It's more of a shortcut. I had my eyes on IK multimedia Modo Bass for quite a long time now... And Toontrack is about to release EZBass which looks really nice on the videos so...

    Digging Wudge-U-Cop-While-Digging-Today?

Thelonious Monk has always been the guy I hear and think "that's a sample, there!" and it turns out impossible to flip right for me... I'm sure you will do great stuff with it. Man's a proper genius.

Finished Beat It Up! - Battle #103

#1 is basically "Still in my heart" by Hell Razah. Very good though but I heard it already.

Producers, What Do You Expect From Rappers?

Well... I used to make beats for the project of a guy ten years ago. He vanished. To this day I still don't know if he ended up in jail or into too much debt he had to disappear completely. I just make beats for the sake of it now, but if I was to work with a rapper I would expect him to be...

Producers, What Instrument(s) Do You Play

Why the hell are these songs good???

Haha... You may be right. Scam alert ! Send me your banking details, I send you Max Martin's phone number. Seriously, I don't want to know the truth then ... Let me live in the alternate reality where music is all about magic. On the other hand, I could use a billboard bullshit lightweight...

    Fatality FIGHT! Battle #14

Best Rocky Balboa quote ever. Seriously, I get what you're sayin' and I totally agree. But I think it is also a good way to improve to try to get out of our comfort zones and try stuff we are not used to. I think that's what themes are for. I take it more as an exercise to try things out, see...

Why the hell are these songs good???

I wish I knew... But if we assume it is something we can analyse, crack and define a receipe for then anybody could have a computer to make it instead of us humans. Maybe it is possible. But do we really want that ? Also it is a very interesting matter and there are many books trying to...

    Fatality FIGHT! Battle #14

Exactly what I thought. I really feel both vibes and think these are great beats. But the rule number 1 is "Your beats must be angry/mean! It's a FIGHT!" Or is it time to edit the rules ? @Fade

I didnt realise how good FL Studio was

Guys you're gon' make me throw my good old Reason away. :oops:Hmmm. How good would you say Fruity Loops could be for other genres, mainly not electronic music (i.e. that requires recording several live instruments?)

What genres apart from hip hop do you produce?

I also play guitar and was left with an acoustic one for this. Not even Electro-acoustic . So I recorded it with an SM7B mic and distorted it with a plugin... I think it turned out ok. I was thinkin' if Keif can do it why can't I. As far as the type of music I "produce" I started with hip-hop...
