How much db variation from note to note until you begin to get into compression?

Ok, I'll tell you what I do most of the time (I'm talking only hiphop beats) : I will low-pass and/or hi-pass and adjust the pre-gain on my tracks in the composition stage, on the go as I add elements to my beat. Once it's all there and I start mixing, my order of operation is : - switch to mono...

Getting Cubase 11 to detect VST's

Glad I could help! about xpand2, I do not have it so maybe someone else would be able to help you. I think you should run the installer (double click on the .exe file) for it to install the factory content to a default location that should be this folder...

Getting Cubase 11 to detect VST's

In Native Access, you should see Kontakt. When you click on kontakt, a window opens on the right of your screen where you can check the installation path for the App, the Vst32 and the VST64. Default should appear this way : - Application location : C:/Program Files/Native Instruments...

Getting Cubase 11 to detect VST's

So it won't detect at all? or it is in the blacklist? if it won't detect at all, make sure the kontakt.dll file is located in the folder which path you added. If it's blacklisted, then there's an issue with the kontakt version/install. Is it installed through the Native instrument...

Getting Cubase 11 to detect VST's

In cubase, you need to add whatever folder your plugins are : Studio -> VST Plugin manager In this window, on the bottom left corner, you click on the cog icon and then the "+" to add whichever path Cubase will need to scan your plugins from. For Cubase to scan your folders, you will need to...

Yes. I understood. But if you mean retarded, you want to use "attardé", cuz "retardé" means late. And you must be careful when you say you are "gai" cuz it's mainly used in the "homosexual" way now... unless that's what you meant, which is also fine.

    Warzone Beat Battle - April 30-May1, 2021

I think we all have "struggling phases" now and then. It's pulling through them that makes us improve, right? But yes, I am also kinda tired of hearing the same old, again and again... and that includes the stuff I been doing myself as well. However, I must say I'm very happy with some beats...

    Warzone Beat Battle - April 30-May1, 2021

I also found myself voting for the beat that was not a "typical" beat... That applies to them Trap beats you describe, but also some "lo-fi", with the typical vinyl dust and warp... I feel the tricks aren't working anymore. Also, congratulations @EsquireMusic111, that final beat is pure dopeness.

    Warzone Beat Battle - April 30-May1, 2021

It's all good ! I remembered your beat because I loved it on the Beat This... I knew I was doomed. :ROFLMAO: And I feel you. I also wished I had more time to make the 4 beats with vocals and all, but I didn't find the time.

@Pcs shorty If I understand things correctly, there are general rules, and then you have the Theme rules which may modify the general rules.

How much db variation from note to note until you begin to get into compression?

What i understand from interviews of professional beatmakers is that the two worlds have collided and beatmakers must know these tools. And compression can have a creative use also, mostly sidechaining stuff for that pumping effect. Frankly, if you feel that your beat sounds good enough...

How much db variation from note to note until you begin to get into compression?

There are so many different uses for compression but I cannot measure it in db and apply it as a rule. I would compress any signal that doesn't sit well in the mix. So once the volume is set, if the volume drops or comes out momentarily, compression will be needed to fix that (e. g. for vocals...

    Lethal by Lethal Audio

Yes, romplers are great... However, if you can't use your own samples, it gets limited or pricey very fast, I think. I suggest you check Ana2 by sonicacademy... it blends samples and wavetable oscillators in a very comprehensive way. And you can layer 3 of each! It is not expensive and it's...

    Lethal by Lethal Audio

Hey, what kind of synthesis is it ? fm, sub, wavetables ? I went to their websites to try and find some info but there's none... And from the interface, it seems you can only toggle through presets and tweak from there. Also, it's marketed to be fast and simple... that might explain. The...

Hi @Memento Beats ,glad to hear from you! 1) What type of did-you-know information about music, music industry, music artists, music science, would you be interested in? Almost everything that relates to how music is MADE from point A to point Z. Preferably stuff I don't already know. If...

    Drake...

I also have never sat and listen to Drake. But the way 99% of people listen and buy music now is driven by algorithms which by design will push the sells of the already most selling ones... No wonder shit happens. I wouldn't call this the current state of hiphop. Hip-hop was born a tiny...
