you can get an mc505 on e-bay nowadays for like $250, drum machines rule. asr's are cheap as hell now too. i have one loaded that i would sell for $500. hardware is cool and has a real hands-on feel, but you should utilize the g4 as much as possible! -

dont go and tell everyone this, but sample while your freaking the record. make things longer or shorter. blah blah blah oh yeah! i wouldnt add any effects until i had the beat right,on time or whatever -
