Im not really sure what your budget is...i mean there's so many different directions you can go in.
First thing I'd say is don't be opposed to computers. These aren't a joke anymore...reason is a professional quality program that's earning users as talented as Just blaze (no joke, I heard JB say in an interview he may switch all of his beatmaking over to reason and stop using his traditional rack.) Reason is a must, in my opinion. I think the sequencing within it is fine but if you're really into all that there's cubase and Pro tools, if you will be recording and tracking.
For a sampler, just go simple. MPC 2000XL, 2500, or a Roland MV8000 will do you just fine.
Keyboard...I don't really know what you have in mind...stay away from the triton, the sounds have been exhausted and its a great piece of equipment but its just been overused. The ASR 10 is still my gold standard...unless you're just looking for a midi keyboard (in which case check out M-Audio's options). If you have the money, go on ebay and get an ASR 10 (by Esoniq)...the thing is an absolute beast in the studio.
A good rack module/synth is invaluable for creating and having a broad library of sounds but they will cost you. a fantom xr or motif es will run you over a thou. If that's out of your budget, just look into downloading and buying sound libraries (reason also comes with a whole lotta sounds).
Your computer, especially with Pro Tools, can serve as the best recording equipment you can have.
