I wouldn't get a MPC at all man. The sample time is a joke!!! Nowdays why would you use a machine that has the same sample time as something from the 80's, when you could get that new rolond sampler that has like 10 minutes of sample time or even the old ASR X Pro that has like 3 or 4 times the...- Medicine Man

what was ur 1st piece of equipment?
I started on a casio keyboard and a 4-track. I played the keys live to a pre-done beat on the keyboard and recorded it to the 4-track. Then I would let my friends rap on the open track. It sounded like crap but was the most fun I've ever had making music!- Medicine Man

I Need a MIDI Expert
You would want to hook the midi cable to the midi out of the mpc and into the midi in of the mp7. This would let you trigger the mp7's sounds on the mpc. Then record the audio out of the mpc and into the sound card of your pc. But to record samples to the mp7 or mpc you wouldn't use midi, you...- Medicine Man

I know for a fact that a midi cable can be up to 50 feet in length before it looses any power. I learned this when I went to school for audio production. new pc problem
I would check your power set up where the cpu is plugged in. Make sure it's a 115 volt line. If you are using old power it may not be enough for your new computer. This happened to me when I got a new real fast cpu and I had to put in a new more powerfull outlet. But after that it worked fine.- Medicine Man
