i'm going to say one thing about the responses in this thread. it's pretty ridiculous how people post up a beat and get extremely defensive when someone critiques it. the way i see it, if someone takes the time to listen to the song, and try to give you CONSTRUCTIVE ways to make your song better, why defend the song the way it is? take the criticism to heart and open your ears and at least consider it. i sometimes think my stuff is amazing at first, but people point out inconsistencies, and then figure out "woah, my work is actually garbage, thanks for the tip!" and move on with a better idea of what i need to work on.

not sure what i'm actually getting at, but i just wish people wouldn't let their egos get in the way of actually progressing and learning as an artist.

I couldnt put it any better myself.

Fade said get off that bullshit and flip some samples!^_^

Reviews.

Lil Drama Boy. Im really not feeling the drums, mainly the snare. I think it could use a raise in tempo also, seems to be a lot of "space". Not bad for one of your first flips.

Low G. I like this one, I like the little twinkly samples you have fitted in there, has a pete rock sound to it, I could easily see CL Smooth rocking this. Good work.

Manguino. I like this one too, flipped up nice. I like the way it drops in. Stylewise it sounds pretty original to me.

2 Good - This Beat Is Hella Dope...i Recommend Softning Up The Heavy Synth Sound. Dope Flip My Dude.
Thanks man, sorry I missed your feedback..
Firstly I like the track called Help Me Help Them, I like the subtle bass and the twinkly wooden glock or whatever its called. But onto the flip...
Your beat changesup a lot and has no direction IMO, but I know theres loads of people that like the choppy style, its just not me. There are a couple of small sections that I really like, but it never really stays the same long enough to get into the groove. Just a taste thing.

Shit was hard and grimmey! I could hear an EmCee going off on this. I didn't like the synth. I think if you would've stayed with natural instruments for your change ups it would have been 100% dope. It's certified tight work though.

p.s. your website is coming together real nice.
ME BEING ABLE TO FLIP SAMPLES LIKE U GUYS...$500 BUCKS WORTH OF TIME.
BEING ABLE TO POST LINKS TO YOUR OWN SHIT WITH YOUR MUSIC ON IT...PRICELESS! LMBAO

If you want my honest opinion I think everyone's flip was decent, but the samples weren't chiopped very good. I don't want to start any beef with any one I am just trying to provide feedback I think each beat had it's own merits. I personally though Manguino's drums were the best, and I think everyone could have pulled a little more out of the sample. The mixes were pretty decent too, but probably needed some compression or mastering overall.

Also, I think this sample was harder to flip because it had such an upbeat happy key signature for the original song. It hard to pull out a grimey tough beat when the original sample has a major key signature.

Anyways, that being said I took the R&B/Emcee combo song... where someone could sing and someone could rap. Kind of that feel good "I love her but we got problems" type of joint.

I relistened to a bunch of the tracks and I think that DJ2Good mos def has some good drum samples and a pretty good drum pattern too. I tihnk the synths should be dropped down a lot lower, and maybe drop the sample some too, because it is really high pitched and is going to cut through everything anyways.

I also like Low G's drums too. The hook was decent but I think the sample need to be dropped down in the mix and you should remove some of the frequencies in it because it is kind of dominating your track (which I would prefer drums and bass to domionate but some dudes want it more grimey). I think the drum pattern sounds too automated though, but the kick is real nice.

Thought I would put a little more info in. =)

Thanks for listening!

That was hot dude. Solid flip. The scratching fits nicely with the flip. Props.

Skidflow - I like the drums in this and once the intro is over and the beat finally drops (it's a touch long) it's a real nice flip man. Good Job.

2good - Nice Flip!!! This is a cool approach to the sample and altered beyond recognition pretty much.

i dont know how to make a link so there is mine.
most definatly could have done alot more however i was thinking if its a last minute entry then better make it quick

lol....u definitely made that shit quick...lol. My only complaint would be that beat is too damn fast. But with that said...u put your own twist on it so u can't be hated on for that. The chops are good and u laid that shit out nice. U used alot of the sample which makes me like it even more. You put it together on point...I just wish the beat was at a slower tempo. Either way.....if u like it I love it. Good job!

Iszazial. Its very fast, something sounds wrong with drums, the pattern is great its just the samples. Im liking the crashes, just not the snare or kick samples. I dont know if you compressed them or what but they sound odd. If the drums sounded cleaner it would be pretty dope. The clarity of the samplechops is nice and clean , it doesnt suit the very grimy beat.

Reviews:

Low G: This is OK. I liked the drums. The sample playback was a little to open. It sounds kinda popish. Good job though.

Manguino: I liked how you made the sample bounce. You put your own little spin on it. Dope Flip.

Flow: This is alright. That intro is super long though. I like the change ups. Good job in making it your own also. Dope Flip .

2Good: I like the fact that you add extras to your samples. I can't play worth a damn. The synth sounded kinda loud though. It's hot. Somebodty could get on it. Dope

Objective: I liked how you did justice to the sample. Shit sounded OS. I'm feeling this fam. Good Job on this shit. Dopeness!!!

Iszazial: Slow it down a little and match those drums. It sounds like a freestyle session at a house party . This has potential though.

Overall everybody got right in their own way. Keep it up.
