Another trick is I turn my high freq slightly down and my low freq slightly up on my vestax mixer when I'm sampling drums. Get a warmer feel that way. That's why I love the MPC, it's really simple and easy to get a beefy analog feel for your samples -

Posted about this in a another thread. Dream I agree with you about the chopping in maschine. So simple and easy. The choke group feature is a definite advantage over the 2000. But the drums are not as punchy in maschine as in the mp. Plus maschine has no track mute feature. weak. I usually... -

Got the monster studio versions about a month ago. They are definitely useful when my wife is asleep and I can't fire up the rockits. They are good to start a beat on and then I can finish mixing it on the big monitors. Definitely worth the money so I don't have to hear my wife run her mouth... -

This is one of my go to formulas on the MPC. Snares: 1/8 or 1/16 50% swing early. Kicks: 52-67% swing early (number depends on feel I'm going for). Hi hats and percussion: 1/16 triple time early. I always use 16 pad velocity for my drums to get that human feel. For my bass, strings ect. I turn... -

I just bought maschine about three weeks ago. Although I love some of the features, I really can't put it over my 2OOOXL. I just work too quick on the mpc. I can use it in the dark with my eyes closed. But the maschine does have some dope sounds and effects. so I'm just sampling the sounds... -
