What up, party people!
Looks like I've been a member for a while. Just now noticing that I have a membership (since I got the invite for the beat battle which I can't actually enter because I don't have enough posts... eh).
Name is Aaron Paul. People call me AP
I go by soul.ILL on a mic.
When I produce, I prefer zKx1000.
I am currently using Reason 4.0 (5.0 won't work on my G5 because it's a Power PC, not Intel. Serious bummer.)
My equipment includes:
Akai MPD24 (MIDI controller)
M-Audio Axiom 25 (MIDI controller)
Korg EM-1 (synth + drum machine)
Numark TTX (Turntable... amazing for production)
2x Samson Resolv 65a (monitors)
ECHO AF12 (audio interface 12 in/12 out)
AKG Perception (mic)
MXL 4000 (mic)
and a dusty Alesis mixing board that half works.
I've been producing Hip Hop instrumentals for a minute + one. Most of my joints are sample based. Sometimes I add some synth when I think it fits. I got my own style, my own tricks and techniques. Don't bite.
I've been writing lyrics since I was 12 (29 now). I've been rapping since I was 19. I started emceeing at 20 or 21. My lyrics include strong references to my faith (Christian) and life experience.
I love Hip Hop. You can often find me educating random strangers on the elements of Hip Hop, the history, the culture, and the difference between Hip Hop and all that other nonsense.
I also beatbox and paper tag (plus the occasional bathroom stall scribble) for whatever that's worth.
Oh, yeah. I live in Portland, Oregon.
