Well, as a "New Guy" The whole idea of battlin' came from way back, probably before most of U were born! Being 31 and from Brooklyn, all I knew was.....disco....then Hip Hop! Now the idea of "battlin'" was to go heads up against anotha crew or street gang! This was our way of limiting the street violence and it was also to show who had the best Breakin skillz of each crew! Callin' out rival crew "Did" include talkin' Sh*t and was takin' as part of the whole "Battlin'" essence! Now in an Emcee Battle what do heads do........? Talk a gang of Sh*t in a rhyme scheme to provoke the crowd to chear! Same should be done in the case of "Production"!!!!! As long as the comments that are said are not racially, genderly, or religious motivated! Now we as Hip Hop heads should know that this kind of talk is competetivly motivated and should be tookin' as such!... All of you who are "Hip Hop Heads" should understand that and take it with stride! If you get all bunched up over a few disses and "Sh*t talk" Then Boooo Hoooo..... To take this away from the "battlin' essence " is to change one of the common Pilars of Hip Hop! That to me,....Is blastphemous and you yourselves are aiding to "Censor" all that Hip Hop has fought year after year for! So, being That I'm a "New Guy" & a "True-Schooler" I find it very disturbing!!!! I am lookin forward to battlin' in the beat Competition and I'm sure I'll have a few things to say!!!! But, It will be in the light of competition and not personal.... It forces us all to Build & get better So our culture will live on!!!! Ya Heard!!! Word Is Bond!! Peace , Love & Hip Hop!!!!
