Once again, its the season and time to introduce the latest upcoming power players in the industry, and once again WE (Producers) have no representation! I have yet to see such platform's give props to the producers that help start the process of any individuals art. Am I the only one that feels that this is tragic? There are so many different producers out that deserve the credibility to highlight what they have to offer and what they are pushing towards.

You're 100% correct. It's unfortunate that we don't have anyone but in a way it's also understandable because fans (and the industry) of course care more about image, so that's why it's all about the rappers.

This is not surprising as Hip Hop Journalism has been on a downturn since Benzino's takeover of The Source in 1994.

And, no one reads credits anymore so if he producer's name isn't listed in the title, no one really cares. Just one of the side effects of everyone getting their music online these days.
