Oxfam shop at lunchtime today.
Spent a little more than I'd planned... Theres some orchestral stuff and a bit of country in there (I can make it work!)
I just found a really good UK based eBay store... Used YouTube to check stuff out and have found some beauties!
Got about 300 quids worth in my watch list right now!
So I was walking past the record store again this lunchtime and I fell; in through the door; still stumbling over to the soul/funk crate... Well the door to the shop was open and there was this massive gust of wind... Long story short a couple records ended up on the counter and money flew out of my wallet and landed in the cash register... It all happened so fast...
I went with my lady to a Junk Stock Fair today and I found these 2 LPs along with 3 Maxell Sampler LPs. $20 bucks for all five. My gems though: Carrie Lucas "Still In Love" in almost Mint condition and a rare Madhouse "16" *Sealed*. Needless to say I was happy for the rest of the day.
Does anyone know about the Billy Paul album in the middle. It has signatures on it and says for promotional use only. By the letters on the front im guessing it was a copy given to a radio station.
@The Knoxvillan Doesn't seem to be anything special really - some radio station slapped a sticker on it and Discogs listings suggest that the promo copy isn't more valuable than any of the retail copies.
Personally, I mostly e-dig for flacs and maintain a huge Discogs wishlist, but here and there I get some CDs and records. My city only has two proper digging spots and a record fair that happens a few times a year. Usually, I preview whatever I find on YouTube and take notes.
Last time, I ended up getting a crazy deal and picking up a bunch of records I didn't know much about, pretty varied finds - local 70s pop, a pair of identical Orthodox liturgy records and more.
Yeah it's been a while for me too. Part of it is e-digging is so much simpler, BUT I still have a special place in my heart for vinyl. I picked some up a while ago but forgot to post it up. I shall do so asap!
