naw ... this is diffrent than mackie... mackies new thing is not a recorder just a mixer .. this is both an all in one recording device record 48 tracks at once at 96khz ... 24 at 192 ...no soundcard can match that....all with no latency... support for vst .... and mixing .. shit if you cop an new digi 002 and a dual g5, your paying near 5gs anyway.... if you use software this is useless but if you use hardware only this thing is unreal .. i def want one pending good reviews of the product .. ive actually been waiting for something like this to come out...

You must be talking about the X Bus console or the d8b Fade. Those things are huge and you still need HDDs or even an MX-2424 to off load your mixes. The computer size of this unit is cool but I can see this one costing lots of upfront dollars too. It says it can record 48 channels but I don't think it actually comes with the actual I/O cards. You gotta get those separately. Shit that's a lot of money. That's gonna be like Pro Tools | HD 3 prices. Holmz run that man. How's the 4K workin' out?
