wireless internet

My internet is pretty jacked up right now and I bought a wireless card the other day to see if I go the free coffee house interent route and I couldnt connect at all. Im trying to see if anyone out there can help.

you need to get the dns from the coffe shop and what ever password you need when connectiong to a vps

or maybe there was too much interference for a steady connection... kinda like using a cell phone in a tunnel...
