Well, I'm not talking about just the forums, I mean the whole site.

I still don't REALLY understand why it's not mentioned more. From these forums, to the articles, artist pages, radio, downloads and all the competitions, you'd figure it would be more well known....

Most people don't view the whole site, that's one of the reasons that I came with the Blowing Up Basement Series because I felt that this site actually has a lot to offer other than its forums, if there was fresh information presented to viewers at least weekly.

But it is definitely a quality site but things like building a quality site with high traffic takes time AND promotional dollars!

If I made it big and scratch magazine was doing a feature on me. I'd want to scream about how Illmuzik is the dopest online community and it truly helped me become a better producer. At the same time I wouldn't want too many people to find out because that would water down the best commodity this site has, the people.

The amount of information of learned from this site has been priceless. Everything from how to EQ drums to the intricacies of soundwaves and harmonics to Classic simply recommending a Young Jeezy track.

It's the only production site where dudes are really producing.

This site has its way of finding serious driven people. Real producers that respect this craft may start out at the other websites but they will eventually look for something more. That's when they come across illmuzik.

The talent on here is strong enough to do an industry shakedown.

Yeah you're right - I pretty much answered myself lol.

But the other question is why no one mentions us. Like I said in my first post, someone will mention IllMuzik, and no one has anything to say.

Like for example, if someone on another site asks: "What other sites do you go to?", most will respond with the usual links, then maybe one person will say IllMuzik. And no one really answers. I'm just curious as to why, that's all.

What everyone has to realize too is that I don't want Ill to have big names on here. Sure it would be nice if I was able to get an interview with Pete Rock, but on the other hand I also want to give that spotlight to the members that are actively here. That was my goal when I first started this site, and it remains my goal today. I don't have dreams of being in the Source or XXL, I could care less. It would be nice, but it's not a priority for me.

Anyway, I'm just glad that everyone sees where I'm coming from. I do believe that we're ahead of the other sites in many aspects. Hell, we're getting ready for Ill Compilations Vol. 2! So what does that tell ya?

P.S. Thanks to all of you for also making this place what it is today. Myself and the rest of the moderators have worked hard to keep the bullshit out and I'm glad it is the way it is.

bells and whistles, fade.

those sites are:

1. older
2. have HUGE membership bases
3. arent SPECIFICALLY dedicated to production. if they arent artists, then what is their purpose for being here? we have a scant few members who arent mc's or producers.
4. big-time noteriety. other sites have major interviews and tend to gravitate towards specific sub genres... underground hip hop, well t hat tells you what they are all about. hip hop game tends to run around "street" artists. okay-player is like us in that they have a variety of heads- but they tend to be extreme cases.
5. moderation- people hate it. HATE it. people dont like actually having to follow the rules. seriously. people cant get away with the nonsense here that they do other places.
6. people are snobs and followers. nobody cares about you if you arent a "name". we arent really a "name". it doesnt matter what the quality here is, its about being "in" with the "cool" crowd so to speak, and that means having a "name".

thats my theory anyhow.

yeah, that sums it up for me too. It's like here at Illmuzik,,,cats are determined and take there music seriously. Not only that, the people here are good at what they do. We all have ruff edges, but from what I hear o the other sites,,,,it's just kids and older cats decidin to do somethin just to do it,,,na mean,,,fuck it Fade, the site is fine,,,fuck em,,

This site also has something personal to it, which isnt a means for someone else to convince coming over here or give an opinion that would be convincing enough... I mean, you can tell someone about the knowledge on this site but there are also shitloads of other sites giving the same info. Now this being a personal matter you more likely to forget you are not promoting your stuff and peeps do that in various ways of expressing their concerns regarding their talent. This is quite typical, look at the boastin n beefin that goes on SC, it all about how you're better then anyone else and how much you have with very little knowledge on the site. Philaflava is great but more stuff on bs topics then anything relevant, the sound lab is pretty much dead these days or is more about reviewing user tracks. I'm also registered to soundonsound, futureproducers and 4 other dutch boards but all pretty much bore me, or arent appealing enough to hang with, which is mostly because a board and their members tend be biased towards a specific interest, whether that be genre related or else, none seem to be really unisex producer biased...its about you the producer overhere, not you the kanye producer or you the stoupe producer, just you and thats personal.

Fade doesnt do that, the members do, the members choose what's or who's tolerable. Eventually the members will follow the path through the forums and adapt to one and anothers interests and share perspectives this way and gain the knowledge they're looking for. If you ask me, most boards can state they have a community, but this IS a community that works, is binding and connecting. On other boards you might aswell be talking to walls.

So, im not likely to be talking on other boards about Ill, simply cuz I've never ran into an occasion or topic. But I also wouldnt forward john doe towards this site since there are alternatives for his concerns, but anyone I like or feel like he could benefit and fit in gets my recommendation for this site. It's actually what I said to Rigor, check out Illmuzik....

Word is Bond! I only tell true heads about this site. All those other bullshit clowns that I run into; mum's the word son. I love this site and the community feel that it has. I think that when IllMuzik is mentioned on other forums people don't comment because they can't think of anything BAD to say about it. Most of the time fools hate too much to say something GOOD; so they don't say anything at all. They're kind of stumped; like a whack ass MC who can't write a dope rhyme without the use of profanity. We don't need that kind of riff raff up in here. Most of those other sites have turned into a bunch of bullshit just like the Source. I'm hoping that IllMuzik can stay on point like Scratch! Yo Fade don't sweat those other "gossip columns" that call themselves hip hop sites. We know where the REAL spot is!

I believe it's a community aspect of it Fade. Here, you have to participate to be a part of this. I think we are so tightly fitted together here that we just rep this site and don't venture out to other sites. I could be WAY OFF base on that though.

I Agree...To be honest, When I first came hear I was almost kicked off for a reason I forgot. But I really wanted to be a part of the site family so I had to beg Fade to let me come back, and I've been a faithful and obedient member ever since!

I used to over at FutureProducers...comparing them to us is like comparing Springer to Dr. Phil. It's all cussin' and bitin' over there. Here you actually learn something and peope her are acutally making moves. There's no haterism here, which is nice.
