I just found out i can import the .akp files into my mpc with the chops!

Who here uses or has recycle?

Ive used a trial demo for a couple weeks and it seemed like a pretty good tool. What are .akp files? I saw that extension as well when I use this software to create my sound programs for mpc1000.

can you do it via usb? i know it can be done via scsi. well.....you can just transfer shit via usb on the 1000 anyway. you could just export the chops from recycle as .wav's and transfer them, right? or does the mpc not accept .wav?

Yeah, the 1000 does accept .wav thats all I use. There is this option that has .akp on it, in this software I have, but I dont mess with .akp, I have no clue what it is. I have an external compact flash drive connected to my PC, and once my sample is chopped up in recycle I just drag and drop onto my G: drive, take the flash card out then pop it into the mpc1k, all .wav files.

im pretty sure, when you include the .akp file and load it into your mpc as a sequence, it autlomatically maps all the chops to the pads on the mpc....

i think u need mpceditor to put the akp files on your mpc but i heard it does map out your samples

Only one thing tho Hopps - Recycle doesnt make akp.'s - It makes REX's.

Nah Man It Does Make Akp Files Man. You Got To Go To Export Sound And Then Select Akp File. Your Talking About The Save As Way.

Recycle 2 also export akai .akp, a little file that contains the slices settings.
The files will be named as NameoftheoriginalSample 001.wav, NameoftheoriginalSample 002.wav, NameoftheoriginalSample 003.wav, etc...
An akp file named NameoftheoriginalSample.akp and a midi file named NameoftheoriginalSample.mid. Recycle do all this work for you in only one click so you dont have to push F5 a lot of times or break your mpc data wheel naming slices....
MPC1000 is a software program creator that can imports these files and... oops! your slices are automatically sets in your mpc1k´s pads in a perfect order.
Combine this with the generated midi file and your loop will rock!!!

recycle is definitley dope...i usually do all of my chops & editing in soundforge 7 and fine tune with recycle to use with Reason...Dope!
