only thing is ,while iwas djin i never seen any american audio gear at any of the bars i worked at, i could pay thesame price and get a pair of numarks with less features, but if anyone on here can vouch for american audio ill prolly end up gettin this

If thats the price including the case for it you might have to cop it and maybe try and flip it, then get the numarks.

That seems dated. Either go for the real deal (pair of turntables and a mixer) or go for the current technology (dj mixer that triggers mp3s on a laptop). CD mixers seem to be stuck in the middle.

yeah we are talkin like another 2 grand at least for that setup, serato isl ike 700 bucks, then whatever it would cost to but a new fast laptop.. i know cd decks are a little dated , i jus wanna get spinnin and i dont feel like luggin vinyl around , plus i can always hook those up to serato and a laptop later

dude if u r serious about djing, i would go with technics or vestax turntables. i have technics1200 and i have never had a problem with them ever. i have also owned a pair of vestax also very good turntables. i have had a pair of numarks and geminis before that, and those suck. u have to make sure they are built properly, cheap turntables arent built great and when u r in a club djing and the speakers are loud they vibrate your turntables which give off an awful hmmmmming noise. and i have never worked with american dj but i wouldnt get them, thats just me, u will find vestax and technics to be your best bet man

yeah i aint buyin turntables.way too inpractical,there are jams u cant get on vinyls n shit and even if u can them shits cost more loot whe nu can just be downloadin them shits for free on ******** and bunin em to cd, very rarely will u see tunrtables even being used in clubs and bars anymore, i know my boy kurtis rich does, and thats cool, but u dont NEED to have technics if yur serious about djing, like killa kurtis said , all u really NEED is a laptop with an ybasic program like pcdj and u can be gettin paid to dj,its more about ur library than what equipment u have imo,nowadays anyway

I'm a straight up vinyl person becuz I started off with it and god knows how much money I've spent on them. I use cd's every now and then but, it aint the same feeling, you can't fuck with it (scratchin, juggling). It's kind of like going on a taxi ride that you're just waiting to get to your destination. Working the tables is like driving instead of riding. But for the most part... almost every bar or club I dj'ed at has a set of turntables and a cd player. Mostly the major bars and clubs though. Small bars might not have any of these. I know I've djed a few where I have to bring my own tables becuz the bar didn't own any of it. It's also true that most of the people that goes out to bars or clubs, aren't really interested on good you can scratch or juggle and shit. They just want to go out and have a good time and hear the music they like. I kinda hate it sometimes because most of the time I just wanna play what I wanna hear, but, you gotta give what the crowd wants. Thats why now I just do it for the money. I still got love for the art of turntablism, but I think it's just not as big in some areas anymore na mean?

I'd say invest in final scratch or serato. Other DJ's I talked to said that Serato's much better than final scratch and that it doesn't crash as much. It also saves time from burning songs to CD's too. I'm definetly getting sick of carrying all my records when I DJ every week. I bring like 3 Crates worth each week. It sucks. I'm definetly gonna get myself a laptop and serato hopefully by xmas time ahaha. Oh I even saw Mix Master Mike using a lap top when he was doing his thing on VH1's Hip Hop Honor. I'm tellin ya, everything's going Hi-Tek now.

Or you can always get them CD turntables where you can scratch using cds.

final scratch is something that u can hook up to your mixer, and they give u two plain records, any audio u have on your computer will go through to the two plain records and work like vinyl.
