wats your style of arranging samples and playing them with your fingers on an mpc?

ive just started and i find that i like to program my kick drum on the top right pad, the hi hat on the pad next on the left of the kick and the snair on the top left. (im right handed)

then i play the kick with my right middle finger, hihat with right pointer finger and snair with left pointer finger.

is there a more efficiant style?

how do the pros (Numark, Prefuse, Shadow etc) do it?

whats your style?

FOR THE A,B,C BANKS

i make the bottom left 4 my kicks....
i make the bottom right 4... my snares
i make the top left... my hats / cymbals
i make the top right.. my bassdrums.. and spc efx...

i leave the d bank open for any samples... cool sounds..for drums

in my 3000... i only can choose one.... pgm.. at a time...

but on my 2000 i can 4 different programs....

so when i use my 2000xl... i make 3 pgms fill with drums... and 1 pgm for samples
then where you would assign midi... i assign... the A,B,C, FOR DRUMS
D I MOVE WHEN I NEED 2 USE A SAMPLE OR SAMPLE SOMETHIINNG AND PUT IT IN THAT BANK

when i had my mpc, it was kick bottom left, hat right next to it on the right, an open hat to the right, and a crash at the very end.

the snare is above the kick, and i play one handed except for when i add extra kicks. i generally search for and load each kit when i begin.
then the top four pads are ususally for percussion..... shakers, tamborines, congas... .. the rest are chopped samples and snares/snaps etc.....

i love the way the thing plays......

I seperate my sounds accordin' to songs, samples and drums on tha same bank. For years I put my kicks bottom left snare next to it hi-hat on top of tha kick and I throw tha samples anywhere.I burn them pads out they had to be replaced. So now I move around no really set place, it's how I feel. I some times use shakers or other percussions too on tha MP. Most of tyme I get that from my keyboard cuz it pans L&R, and tha senitivity level of tha keyz are sometimes better. Dependin' on tha type of beat. Bassline notes done on tha MP, it's thicker, more bottom.

I hate the MPC. Every time I try to bang out some heat, I mess up my fingers:

i just kinda started doing my own things and it works for me, i put my hats always across the top four, the my snare below, in those four then my kick below that, then my open hat at the bottom four, just works, and once you start habits, why change (it's not like the drums are gonna sound different), to each his own.

it all boils down to everyone having their own personal prefferences. no way is right or wrong. its what you are use to doing. i dont have no set way when it comes to playing my mpc. one day imight have the kick on the bottom left next day on top right. end of story
