What's Your Credit Card Debt from Music???

What's the deal illmuzik, I must have blacked out at Guitar Center and Best Buy during the month of June because today I was doing the bills for the month and between my 4-5 credit cards it dawned on me that I'm 6-7 g's in debt from upgrades and the "necessities" of any home studio.


Stuff I bought

BX5 Speakers

Ibanez Acoust-Elec Guitar

New Acoustic Crate Amp

New DAW

17 in flat panel monitor

42" Plasma Monitor (to watch them .wavs, edit video footage, and PS2 Online baby!)

What really scares me is that we're booking more and more acts for live show DVD jobs and shooting more videos for all you artists out there, and the cost for upgrading professional cameras, lighting, software, etc might have me puttin on a ski mask and robbing a few banks!

How far has your love for the music/studio upgrades gotten you in debt?????

Mines all paid off, thank god! When I bought my triton was the biggest one though 1600 but I was on a payment plan... I was forkin out a good 300 a month, but I had a better paying job at the time... Now, I'll only go and get something if I have the cash to flat out get it, I try and stay away form the payment plans....

It's not that I don't have the cash to buy whatever it is that I want upfront, its just that using credit gives me the flexibility to put my money in other areas,
pay a chunk upfront and then balance it out later.
Establishing credit history is good when you wanna purchase the finer things like boats,houses,cars so anything over $300.00 I cop with plastic

The good thing is that the equipment i purchase earns $$$ for me, so it pays itself off anyways.
At the end of the day it doesn't really matter because all studio/music purchases are written off as business upgrades for tax purposes since i operate my own business.

I know some cats who bought Pro Tools HD, or film guys in my circle who leaped over to Mac and Final Cut Pro and paid a heavy cost but it's viewed as an investment if you're real about your work.
