I'm a new member and brand new to music production and beat building, but I have a good ear for good music. I joined this forum not only for myself but for my 12 year old son. He says he wants to rap so before I dump any money into it and he puts it down after a day or two, I want to make sure this is what he really wants to do. I want him to put his feet in the water before diving right in. The best way to teach him is to learn it myself, and as I said before I'm brand new to this so I will ask alot of noob questions. Welcome @TinyInkognegroT but please tell your 12 year old son to be about his education first and foremost as rap and music overall pays less unless someone is in the 1% of those who "make it" according to society's definition (which isn't always bad but can be based on someone's lack of psychological health) and if he wants to rap show him the trues in the art form e.g. Black Thought, Rapsody, etc. and keep him away from the lyrics of Trap.
