What's the typical genre that you sample from first?

Me I usually go for 80's Pop and Rock first.

Ya movie soundtracks are big too, it depends though. You have to stick with older movies (at least that's what I do) because they were just, well, better.

nowadays im jus sampling whatever i hear is nice, ive made a few beats which sample house music and trance stuff too. its a good thing to change up aswell i guess but normally i jus go straight for jazz and soul music.

70s soul & funk... On a recent dig-trip I picked up a load of Stylistics & Third Degrees records... That was a nice find.
I definitely gravitate to the funk/soul/jazz crates.
